An archive of American hauntings

The Marrowfield Files

America is haunted.
Marrowfield kept the records.

Case Brief

What is The Marrowfield Files?

A 50-Year Investigation

Begun in 1967 when reporter Thomas Mercer vanished the morning after photographing something he should not have. Reopened in 2026 by his granddaughter, Luna.

An American Paranormal Archive

Thirty states. Bridges, mines, lighthouses, motels, churches that closed and didn't. Every case filed. Every witness logged. Every photograph kept.

A Universe You Can Submit To

The Red Network is not a fan club. It is a defense web. If something has happened in your town, the archive wants the record. Submit a Folding below.

Cosmology

The Universe

Four pillars hold up the world we are documenting.

Ashwing

"I heard wings first. Then the bell. Then everyone started running."

The first omen. Red-eyed, winged, photographed once in 1967 above a bridge that would fall six hours later. Witnessed since across thirteen states. Possibly a warning. Possibly a hunter. The archive disagrees.

The Ashen Fold

"The road's end returns to the same town sign."

A hostile dimension folded behind ours. Not hell. Not the underworld. Ash sky. Doors that open to wrong rooms. Diners with their lights on but no one inside. The places where the seam between worlds is thinnest.

The Red Network

"Do not answer a familiar voice after midnight."

A centuries-old defense web of journalists, priests, gravediggers, deputies, and archivists. They communicate in coded newspaper ads called the Red Column. They keep the records the official story refuses to keep.

The Marrowfield Daily

"Serving Marrowfield County Since 1891."

The in-universe newspaper. Now publishing the records that were buried — quarterly physical edition, weekly digital, voicemail line for tips, foldout map updated as new Foldings are confirmed.
